today was sunny and cold. i rode my bike to the store; it made my ears hurt, but i got groceries. sometimes it's good for me to be by myself for a while. it makes me think. but sometimes thinking leads to me beating myself up, as happened at some points today. but i am better now. i talked to
chris for a long time this evening and it was quite good. we haven't really talked in a while, and so it is good to know that it is not broken. also, today i finished harry potter #4, which was quite enjoyable. i watched dexter's lab. there was no powerpuff girls but there was much dexter. carl came over and showed me how to do some computer stuff. i put up some bulletin boards. i played loud music. i started a new book:
midnight's children by salman rushdie. i watched wallace & gromit, who were on
cartoon network! yay! and i called brian. that's about it.
but! yesterday charles and i picked out all the new parts i am going to get, which he is going to put into my computer for me! and then i will have an exciting and fast computer that will not freeze every five minutes.
i was grumpy for a while. but i am better now. it's ok. he's not lying to me. i believe him.
you and no one else
i am in reno now after spending a few internet-less (eep!) days in the sacramento area with brandon & hillary. we didn't really do anything major . . . we went christmas shopping, (brian and i went down to old sacramento one afternoon, and went to the neat shops and stuff), watched some movies . . . i rode the go-ped (not for very long) and i played video games (for a significantly longer period of time). we just kind of hung out. it was fun. relaxing and good. yay! i was apprehensive but it turned out to be just fine. the cat kind of gave me some trouble, but i had my allergy pills & my inhaler so i was fine. brandon had two rats that hillary had just gotten him for christmas, so i played with them; they were cute. also we went to hillary's mom's house, where her sister had a chilean rose haired tarantula, which i held. it was very cool. last night, ryan (aka rye-bread) and jen came over and we had dinner. i guess i was kind of expecting brian and brandon to be the same person, but i wasn't really expecting there to be THREE of them, once ryan showed up. that was a little overwhelming. even just brian and brandon in the mall were extremely obnoxious. as if one weren't bad enough. oh well . . . at least i don't always have to deal with two of them. =)
and now i am reno. jay & peggy have gone to a party at someone's house and i am staying here so i can do laundry and take a shower. dad came to get me this morning and brian and whoever else comes with are going to pick me up on the 27th to go home. i'm on duty starting the 28th =P and i guess i'm going to katie rose's for new year's, since
shelby cancelled her party. =P
and that's all, for now . . . i'm bored.
have i been wise? have i been strong?
since break started i have been malnourished, but last night i had tomato soup and a microwaved cheese sandwich, and i felt better. other than that i have eaten lots of ramen, and lots of peanut butter sandwiches. i worked at the area desk for the past couple of days, and then i started duty last night. it wasn't too bad, even though we had to do two halls of walton. it has been raining a lot recently, which causes grumpiness among some, but today it is sunny and the sky is blue, so i think we are going to go find something to do outside.

since i last posted, i have watched "army of darkness," "the 13th warrior," and "gladiator." i also forgot to mention "eegah," an MST3K movie which was, of course, very funny. and yesterday when i was at the video store all by myself, i was able to get a "girl" movie for me to watch, probably also all by myself: "hilary and jackie."
i have a new idea for this page -- i think i figured out what my code needs to be, basically, to make it look like i want. i emailed it to
bill but i think he went to the beach and so he has not written back.
i said i was going to leave the country if bush won but now i don't know. maybe i should stay here and be a subversive element and get people all riled up so we can get a really awesome democratic ticket (with a woman on it!!) elected in 2004. wouldn't that be more useful than protesting by going to canada? i kind of like the idea of being a subversive element . . .

finals went ok. my grades were posted today and i did better than i expected. yay! i survived a trip to astoria this weekend, and i also survived the trip home through the snow. i met the new dog, stella, who is a sweetheart! even though i am allergic to her. brian and marika and i went up to the top of the column, where of course i could not stand close to the edge at all. joanne and erin have left =( and will soon be gone away to their respective countries (new zealand and italy) and so that is sad. but arlie is back in oregon! he called me yesterday from salem, and he'll be down here in eugene tomorrow, so that's v. exciting. (i did not link to his page because it went away; he used up his three or six or whatever months and his gladstone account expired. he was upset.) bill has moved away. this is sad. bill was an institution. i don't think anyone really thought he'd ever leave. =) but the good side is that there was a vacant men's single room that was not on my floor for brian to move into. so now justin is up here on my floor. i decorated my room finally. it's kind of random but i'm much happier to have my sunshines and stuff back. also, i finally cleaned! yay! and now there is room to walk. it's quite nice. in the past two days i have watched "blazing saddles" and "shanghai noon" and we also have "army of darkness." (i think i might end up actually actively liking jackie chan movies. oy. as if me actually downloading a metallica song weren't bad enough!) and my new favorite show is the powerpuff girls. they rock! =)
