i thought that i heard you laughing
and there was much rejoicing, because brian is not dead after all! he called yesterday =) and all is well. i worked all day yesterday and all day today (yay money!) but have not cleaned my room much. last night i had dinner with charles and kim and rochelle (yay!!) and i came home with charles' nintendo (also yay) so i have been playing gauntlet legends (when i'm not working or watching movies or sleeping.) but i know that i have to clean because mom is coming on saturday and brian is coming home friday? so it will be clean by then. for now, though, i think i'll go try to sleep off my evil nasty headache that i am hoping is not going to be around for a week like last time . . .

last night i watched "almost famous" last night with shelby and chris wells. i quite enjoyed it (especially kate hudson's hair) but i creacked up in the middle of shelby's favorite scene, where they're in the bus and all singing "tiny dancer" . . . it made me think of the misheard song lyric on kiss this guy. i laugh'd and laugh'd and then i told them the story, and then they laugh'd too, and then we all had it stuck in our heads all night.

we don't get to go to canada right now . . . i have to work at the library monday and no one else can go in the middle of the week. so i'm going to stay home and work lots & lots, and then i'll have lots & lots of money, and then we can go to canada later. also i'm going to clean my room. i told brian that when he got home he'd think he was in the wrong room, because it would be so clean, but now i have to clean it.
although brian seems to be missing . . . he hasn't called me (he's been in california since tuesday) and the phone number that's on my phone bill from winter break, while he was at the same place, now says it's disconnected. and the internet won't give me a phone number, either. which is QUITE crappy!! so . . . i hope he calls me . . . 'cause i'm sad and lonely.
today shelby and i went shopping. i got a shelbyshirt and a laurenshirt and a grey sweatshirt that will go with all the other grey long-sleeved things i have . . . of which there are many. and i got a cinnabon, yay! but really i need some khaki pants, and i always seem to have a hard time finding those . . . i also need to be skinny. *sigh*
oh well. it's time to return to the sims. yay!

these little pictures are of a frog that i think is really cute. it is a very small frog, maybe about 2 cm, and it has no name yet, so people should help come up with names for it. it is probably a girl but i don't know. but anyway, this frog, which belongs to my friend, is really small and cute. it eats fruit flies and very small crickets, and it sits on branches and leaves and poses for the camera very well.

anyroad. so it's finals week, but this time at least i am not making big major changes to my website, although i am (obviously) doing a little update. monday i had a big linguistics paper due that turned out rather well, i think; today i had a take-home final that turned out to be 8 pages; tomorrow i have a linguistics test; thursday i have a dentist appointment and a poli sci final. then i'm done! charles is going to lend me his nintendo and gauntlet legends, which is very exciting, and hopefully shelby and i are going to be able to go to canada, possibly along with some other people. and other than that, i'm going to stay here and clean my room and read books. and play gauntlet. and maybe some other stuff. shelby and chris wells and other fun people will be around for break, even though chris pratt and brian will be in mcminnville and sacramento, respectively. brian left today, actually, and i'm bored already.
robin called me today (from spain!!) and we talked about future housing plans, among other things. i'm quite excited about the whole thing, as usual. and i talked to shan recently, the night before she left for florida for her spring break (lousy shan), and so the actual house hunt will begin soon, i think. yay!
oh yeah, i added more pictures of brian to the pictures page, down at the bottom. he had a digital camera the other day to record him doing forms and stuff for his CD and book that he's making, and he had me take some pictures of him to put on hotornot.com, which he thinks is quite funny somehow. anyway, more to come over break . . . maybe even real site updates!

i have lots of homework. so guess what? i am playing with internet. yayyy internet.
napster has to take off a whole bunch of songs . . . anything from the five labels that sued it, i guess.
the girls next door were listening to "on my own" from les misérables, and i got all excited and started listening to it, too, and then i got all excited and got out the book, and now i want to read it instead of write my papers. but my goal for today was to get one paper done, and tomorrow ALL DAY i have to do ra interviews for the new kids, so i kind of have to get it done tonight. and i might be going to the house of saralyn/katie rose/katie markowitz/rachel later with prattchris and peterweirdera but right now they are recording their song, which is called "51 feet away" and is very funny.

this little thinking blonde girl is called bubbles. she is from the powerpuff girls which is a really cool tv show on cartoon network. she is the best one because she is the nicest, and she speaks squirrel, and kitty, and spanish, and she likes to color. also, she has blonde pigtails, and she hates being treated like the baby. i like bubbles. everyone should watch the powerpuff girls all the time.

the university is testing new cable channels to see if the line can take it or something . . . so for a while, at least, we have VH1, comedy central, the history channel, and some other fun stuff. i hope it stays.
i just talked to katie about next year's living situation . . . i am very excited to move out!!!
i think i am going to let brian teach me things, even though i'm very apprehensive.
oh, and . . . SCHOOL IS LAME!!! but i should go do my homework now.

well, bill, this is for you, so you can quit bugging me about not updating.
i have a new job. it's very exciting and fun, yay. i work at the library, in archives, and it's really fun. i like it a lot. right now (since i am still just starting) i am going through and organizing the files of a former dean of the university around the turn of the century (the last one, that is) who was taking lots of notes to write a history of the university, which apparently never got done. but it's cool anyway, even though taking off lots and lots of paperclips has hurt my fingers. =)
unfortunately i don't think i'll be able to go to amherst to see shannon at spring break, which is very very sad. but i found cheap trains to portland, seattle, and vancouver BC . . . so there's that, maybe. if someone will go with me. (like shelby.) 'cause brian is going to sacramento (big surprise . . . i always think he's not going to come back) and chris is going to mcminnville and wow a lot of my friends have web pages.
it was sunny today. we went to the river and walked around and skipped rocks. that was fun. the river is nice. and it was really warm, so i got to walk around and go to classes barefoot again; it doesn't take much to get me back into crazy hippie barefoot lauren mode. =) and that's all! nothing else is going on! except that i'm going to see u2 in may and the dalai lama in april. or the other way around, i think, actually. but i'm very excited about both. yay!
oh, but one more thing, actually. i finally have a decent picture of brian!
